About Me

Hey guys   🙂

Just wanted to give you a few quick facts about me in case you’re wondering who the insane genius is behind the words you’re reading:

I’m Renee and I currently live in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I love to travel – moved to Texas after graduation for a bit, ( loveeee texas) but realized I love my family too much to leave them 1,700 miles away. Maybe I’ll move back when they croak 😉

I grew up loving reading, writing, and … finance! Got accepted to business school as a freshman but turned that down because for some weird reason I chose a science path out of the blue. Four years later I graduated college with my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for about two years. Once I got fired (eeeeek) from my last job – I decided to figure out what the hell I really want with my life.

I want to laugh. I want to dance. I want to be a writer, a nurse, a musician… I want to be happy.

I’ve struggled with lots of shit in my life (self, family, and social) – alcoholism, abuse, depression, cheating –  the list goes on and on. It took a toll on my own self-esteem. I’ve sabotaged my own happiness and success multiple times.

I’ve learned and am still learning that finding a way to laugh each day makes life more beautiful – and that’s what I want to share with you!

Oh, and I just got a dog. I’m pretty obsessed.

      Oh, that’s correct – not even close to it’s destination… but I’m trying to enjoy the journey because that’s what makes you the person you end up being once you do reach that destination!

      I got an Australian Shepherd. He’s the new love of my life. 🙂

    Oh, geesh… I’m figuratively obsessed WITH my pup, that’s the relation. I was trying to imply that he’s an awesome dog and that I tend to spend the majority of my waking hours with him! Ha

      Sorry about all your stress – but I’m glad we came to the same conclusion! It’s a struggle some days to remember to laugh or “look on the bright side,” but it’s better than having the stress ulcers and headaches!

    Being fired as a Nurse may have been the best thing that happened to you…I love it and have been at it since 1987 but, would NOT choose it as a career now! I banned my kids from becoming Nurses lol!
