Some may call it cheating – I call it a creative mind! (Ha ha)

Thinking outside the box enables us to be more creative – to breakdown and overcome the norm. Thinking outside the box is what allows entrepreneurs and businessmen to succeed. It’s finding a different way to handle things, it’s trying to find a better way. Thinking outside the box helped grow huge corporations like Apple and Microsoft. It allows people who yearn for freedom to escape the unwritten societal rules about how life ‘should’ be lived, and hell – backpack across Europe for two years.

For example – society wants me to eat eggs or cereal for breakfast, but nope – not for this outoftheboxthinker…

I ate the leftover half of my turkey burger, AND a bite of pasta salad. Take that, society and diet.

    I love this post!! I am definately an out of the box and outside the lines kind of person, and love it when others are too! You always bring a smile to my face, Renee! It is also nice to run things by other outofthebox thinkers because they might have thought to place thier tic tac toe letter in another place all together that I would never have thought of. Here’s to eating whatever you want for breakfast!

    It takes out of the box thinking to break out of the status quo and live into any sense of an adventure. Do you spend much time reading? I’m sure between blogging, starting a business, relationships, etc. it may be tough to find time to read. But if you do, a few books that challenged me:

    A Whack On the Side of the Head by Roger Van Oech. Older book, but great one one creativity.

    Ignore Everybody: and 39 Other Keys to Creativity by Hugh Macleod. Fun artist who took out of the box thinking to his art.

    Just a few good reads to encourage this kind of thinking! Keep it up!

        Both are great reads. You may want to pre-read Ignore Everybody before giving it to your kids. Some of his cartoons may have some inappropriate humor. Just depends on what you’re cool with your kids reading. Lessons in his book are great though. Just a heads up.

        Added them to my reading list as well. Yes, I’ve been super busy – but I try to set aside a little time to read each day/night. Personal, technology-free time.
